Our hearts are again saddened by yet another great loss, that of Reverend Bernardo Rodriguez, Parochial Vicar here at St. Peter Parish. Fr. Bernardo faithfully served as a shepherd of the Lord and of the Lord's people as he walked closely alongside our Spanish Community. Our condolences and prayers go out and up for Father's family, the Priests and Religious who served along side him, the Spanish Community who became Father's friends and parishioners experiencing saddened hearts. We do not always understand the plan Our Lord has for each of us, yet as a Faithfull people we place our Trust in him.
Fr. Bernardo led us all into a deeper encounter with Our Lord by spending time enriching us in the Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding of the liturgy of Our Lord. Often Father would come down into the isle to speak with us more closely as Jesus would speak with those who gathered to hear his WORD. Father also led weekly a Bible study, and his love for teaching about the Holy Eucharist and the Living Mysteries of Christ Jesus was so evident at our RCIA meeting as well. He happily accepted the invitation and chose the topic. Did we realize how Blessed we were that day? Let us be more aware of those souls who look for opportunities to share the Divine Will and Love of Jesus through any and every seemingly small act, may we learn from them to do his will not ours and to to so with our hearts open and a smile on our faces, even when we may have reason not to.
Thank you Father Merry and Fr. Bernardo for your living example of being Christ among us. How Blessed are we to have encountered Jesus through your loving hearts and the lives you so graciously gave to your Brothers and sisters in service to the Love of Chist Jesus. We will miss you Father, we pray the Lord restores you and pray you receive all the Blessed reward of Eternal Life in Heaven with Our Blessed Mother, and Our Lord's most Merciful Light and Love. May you rest in Peace, we will be praying for you. Amen.

I will speak of my experiences, though know they shared by many in witnessing Father's most humble, truely charitable soul. Even in the midst of his long suffering, Father always had a smile and kind, thoughtful words to go along with it and even when rest was calling, thought nothing of doing something for you. He also had the grace of making me laugh, often when I needed it with just a few well spoken words. Father Merry truely cared about you when he asked how you were. Father gave freely of his time in those moments and when you walked away, you had a smile on your face and may have be been laughing a bit as you thought of his words. You knew you just experienced True Charity of Heart, Mind, and Spirit, a warm, genuine encounter with the Lord.
We will miss you Father, we pray the Lord restores you and pray you receive all the Blessed reward of Eternal Life in Heaven with Our Blessed Mother, and Our Lord's most Merciful Light and Love. May you rest in Peace, we will be praying for you. Amen.
