Boys and girls are invited to be Mass servers in the third grade through high school. The servers assist the priest at the altar during the liturgy. Father Mecca coordinates the training and scheduling of Mass servers.
Women and men of the parish volunteer to clean the sacristy, sanctuary and altar appointments once a week on a Saturday morning. Teams rotate throughout the month. Mary Schlichtig coordinates the schedule for Altar Society members.
BINGO is played in the parish hall every Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Volunteer teams of four people rotate each week and take care of game management, ticket sales, and food prep. Brenda Farrah is the Bingo Member in Charge. Annette Luciano and Rich Baird coordinate kitchen activity.
Catechists are needed September – May each year to instruct the young people of the parish in their faith and in Sacrament preparation. Religious education classes meet on Sunday morning in St. Peter School. Contact the Religious Education office at 203-743-1048 to get started today.

The Community Concerns committee is dedicated to helping those less fortunate in the Greater Danbury area. Through various outreach program and fundraisers, it provides support to those in need. Christine Moore coordinates the committee’s activities.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist are called to serve the parish community in the distribution of the Holy Eucharist. If interested in becoming a minister, please contact Fr. Gregg Mecca. Schedules for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are coordinated by Terry Pepin.
The Men’s Society, one of the oldest groups in our parish, works to fund the Sister Marita Daniel Scholarship at St. Peter School (through various fundraisers such as its annual pancake breakfast and fishing excursion raffle) and provides support and the necessary “man power” for many parish activities and needs. Bob Bailey is in charge of coordinating all activities.
The primary purpose of the lector is to proclaim the Word of the Lord at the liturgies. In addition to being on a rotating schedule for the Masses, lectors may be requested to read at special liturgies or prayer services throughout the year. Yearly workshops are held to train new lectors and promote the spiritual development of the reading ministry. If interested contact Fr. Gregg Mecca or Terry Pepin.
The Parish Council serves as an advisory board to the Pastor. The Council made up of members elected at large and the standing committee heads. If you are interested in being considered for a nomination to the Council, contact Fr. Gregg Mecca.
The primary purpose the Parish Life Committee is to build up the social and community life of the parish. This is achieved through various events in the calendar year such as the annual tag sale, raffle and picnic. To volunteer for the committee, please contact Brenda Farrah.
The primary purpose of the usher is to take up the collection during Sunday and holy day liturgies. All ushers must be instructed in the proper collection and handling of the offertory according to diocesan instructions. Carol Lemoine coordinates the ushers for weekend liturgies.
Two Youth Groups, the Junior for grades 6-8, and the Senior for grades 9-12 offer social and spiritual activities to build up friendships, to encourage spiritual and personal growth, to foster active membership within the Church, and to participate in the outreach ministries of the Parish.
