Due to a lack of enrollment, our summer day camp will be rescheduled to next summer. The camp will now take place from June 26-20, 2023. Please check back in the spring for more information and registration!
Liturgical arts make our worship beautiful. It includes music as well as the visual arts. At our Liturgical Arts Day Camp, children will learn to chant the Mass and experience the joy of singing in a choir. They will learn about our beautiful stained glass windows, and will even get a chance to make their own stained glass project during Arts and Crafts. They will learn about the liturgical year and its colors, and even get a chance to hear and play our mighty pipe organ. Most importantly, children will experience how beauty in worship allows us to enter into a deeper relationship with our God at Mass.
The four liturgical ministries for children include: altar servers, choir, reading, and hospitality (greeting parishioners and ushering). Our camp leaders will work with the children in small groups so that everyone will get to learn about and experience all four liturgical ministries. It is our hope that campers will discover that God is calling them to one or more of these liturgical ministries, and that they will become liturgical ministers at Sunday Masses.
The costs of our Liturgical Arts Day Camp is being subsidized with money St. Peter Church has received from the Nelly Goletti Foundation. This allows us to keep our camp fees to a very reasonable $75.00 per child ($50 for additional children from the same family).
